  16. seasons leading the Boston Pops; in Boston. Williams is well
  17. known for his anthemic movie scores, including those for the
  18. Star Wars and Indiana Jones trilogies, Superman, Jaws and ET.
  19. (He also composed the NBC News theme music.) At the Boston Pops,
  20. he succeeded the legendary Arthur Fiedler and, like him, straddled
  21. the gap between the classics and American pop music with artists
  22. from both worlds--Yo-Yo Ma, Sammy Davis Jr., Kiri Te Kanawa
  23. and Whitney Houston.
